WHAT ARE
THEY?
An Illuminart
Night Light is simply a night light of superior craftsmanship. Each light is made one at a time in Wilton, NH. Using photographic quality reproductions of the original works of art, wedged between two pieces of glass and enclosed between a special casing that holds the base, the bulb, and acts as a reflector. The white reflector backing of non flammable PVC that encompasses the bulb of each night light reflects light over the image evenly. No other night light product has such a feature. The vertical light measures 3" X 3 3/4 and the horizontal night light measures 3 3/4" x 3". We use 4 watt bulbs and they plug into 110 volt sockets. WHY BY
THEM FROM ROMANZA GIFTS & HOME DECOR?
Because
we love them as much as you will! When we found Illuminart
Night Lights, it was love at first sight! We carry many of your
favorite images and in most cases, will ship them the same day you order!

HOW DID IT START? Rosencrantz
and Guildenstern started as the world's first rock and roll mail-order check
company. Mike Zielie, the founder, came up with the idea while
managing a pizza joint at the University of New Hampshire. "I'd go through
all these checks, night after night, with big eyed clowns, unicorns, and
teddy bears. They drove me nuts. I thought it'd be nice if someone
could come up with a check with something interesting on it." but no
one offered anything of the sort. "That's when I figured I might be
able to make some money doing it." He figured he was on the fast track
toward wealth and fame.
WHO ARE
ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN?
Two
minor characters in Shakespeare's "Hamlet." Long story short, they try to
make a quick buck and quickly get in over their heads, to the point of losing
them. The name worked because the young entrepreneur thought little
of the risks, nor how difficult it would be. So far, we have managed
to avoid the plight of the original Rosencrantz & Guildenstern,
and have had far more fun. One of our customers has a couple of cats
named Rosencrantz & Guildenstern, too. The cats, we hear, are also
well.

SO HOW
COME NIGHT LIGHTS?
We have
a really great clientele of about forty thousand geniuses, weirdoes, and
people with extreme and wonderful senses of humor. We were getting by
selling them checks, but we figured we could sell these loyal customers more
stuff. We received requests to put our images on labels and stationary.
After seeing a night light with a picture inside, the new joke seemed clear.
Wouldn't it be funny to make a kid's night light with "The Scream" on it?
Mike tinkered around in the back room until he figured out how to make the
thing. We couldn't afford to tool up in such a way as to mass-produce
them economically with plastic and offset printing, so we put them together
one at a time with expensive medical glass, metal frames, and high resolution
photographic transparencies. The prototypes were superior to anything
we had seen up until then that we had to keep making them that way.
We experimented with photos of famous paintings and were delighted by the
results. Out goal is to have startling artwork guiding people to the
bathroom all over the world.
